“The most beautiful in the world is, of course, the world itself.”

Wallace Stevens

A quote by Wallace Stevens surely resonates with people who have a penchant for visiting and exploring different places of the world. Travelling not only brings about a break in daily monotonous routine, but also provides for an opportunity to meet new people, try new delicacies, explore different cultures and most important of all, it puts forth a golden chance to dive within and get to know ourselves, henceforth putting us in a better position to control our thought process.

From the hub of luxurious brands, London, which appeals to shopaholics. To the city which is a symbolization of grandeur in itself, Dubai. For the people who want to experience lavishness personified in state of the art architecture. Or to The Alps and Himalayas, for the thrill-seeking adventurers, the world provides for endless opportunities to quench the exploratory thirst of a traveller.

While there are some who have made travelling as a full-time career option. For example the pilots, captains on merchant ships, or tour organizers, etc. There are still others who think of travelling only as an escape from routine assignments, projects, deadlines, and that nagging voice of the boss! However, there are some interesting part-time job opportunities which can be taken up while travelling which apart from letting you explore some of the exotic places, will also take care of your bank account. Some of them are:

Here’s our top tips on making money whilst travelling:

  1. Get Writing

Be it travel blogging or freelance writing or book writing (this one is for the highly motivated ones), travelling is a great way to indulge in writing and make some money. Besides bringing you in contact with interesting people, who provide you with valuable insights, it keeps the mind in a relaxed mood, which also enhances the brain’s ability to indulge more in creative writing. You can cater to your literary genius while on a plane, in a restaurant, on a beach, or a cruise. Hence, writing becomes an interesting job while exploring the world. ✍

  2. Import/Export Goods

This option is for entrepreneurs who have an affinity for wanting to travel. You can start your business in your own country and begin trading in products which have global value. The world is an industrial behemoth, and there are always demand/ supply gaps which can be exploited. The products can range from palm oil in Thailand, Diamonds in Russia, or sugar from Cuba and rum from Puerto Rico. You will have to visit these places to procure orders, and it will not just be a business trip! 🛒

  3. Take Photos

If you know the terms like aperture, exposure, depth of field, pixels, etc., then freelance photography can be an excellent option to fund your travel expenses. You can be self-employed, take pictures and sell them to clients, or you can tie up with multinationals, who provide you with projects (which involve traveling) and pay a pre-negotiated amount. However, this is a competitive field, and one needs to have a passion for photography if desirous of success. 📷

  4. Surf Instructor / Yacht Crew

For the ones who love beaches and endless views of the blue ocean. Your warm weather vacation can turn all the more interesting when you start getting paid for it. Although the yacht crew job requires you to possess some basic marine knowledge and principles of surfing, surfing instructor requires skill and enthusiasm and no other certification. 🏄‍♀️

  5. Become an Influencer

It is the age of Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. The first thing a person does after getting up in the morning is reaching for his phone, like a ninja. No wonder then that these are the richest publicly traded companies in the world. Blogging is a good option and is open to a variety of genres: you can blog about that thrilling jump from a plane in Pattaya, or shoot a video of some oldies dancing and having a time of their lives on Wineglass Bay.

Edit English menu/signs, woah I definitely didn’t know that was something that would pay or that kind of work is available. Cool. I would really like to travel more often and the opportunity to at least make money on the side while travelling is a great thing. Thanks for this information!
